Arunachal pradesh

Arunachal pradesh, the 'Land of the Dawn-lit mountains', is India's land of rising sun. The state is entirely mountainous except for thin strips of flat land. Dense forests cover more than two-third of the territory. The population is predominantly tribal which consists of more than 20 tribes that speak their own tongues. The state vibrates to the colourful life of hill people and throbs to the lively rhythms of their tribal music, Dances and customs. Recorded history of arunachal pradesh can be traced when ahom kings began to rule Assam in the 16th century. The region came under the british control in 1838. Originally known as the North East Frontier Agency (NEFA), it was placed under the administration of the inion government in 1948. It was declared a union territory under the name of Arunachal pradesh on january 20, 1972. It was given a full statehood on February 20, 1987.

Assam

One of the "Seven sisters" that comprise the North-Eastern states, Assam is a land that is both culturally alive and visually beautiful. It is a state of lofty mountains, brilliantly green valley's, thick forests teeming with wildlife, Gorgeous river scenery, Extensive tea gardens and charming people who are heir to rich traditions of folklore, music, drama and crafts. Geographically Assam may be divided into two important physical regions - the Barak valley and the Brahmaputra valley. Assam is dominated by the brahmaputra river. The state receives rainfall between 178 and305 cm, one of the highest in the world.
The history of Assam goes back to the pauranic days, when it was known as Kamarupa and is said to have been founded by king Narakasur. In the 13th century, the region came under the rule of Ahoms until they were dislodged by the burmese. The burmese were defeated by the british in 1826 annexing the region. on India's independence Assam was broken into many parts. Assam lost sylhet division to east Pakistan (now bangladesh) during the partition. There after, Assam continued to lose territory step by step as Nagaland, Meghalaya and Arunachal pradesh were separated from it.

Himachal pradesh is situated right in the lap of Himalayan ranges. The state is almost entirely mountainuos with altitude ranging from 460 to 6600 meters above sea level. Physiographically, the state can be divided into regions, Southern and Northern. Overlooking the Arabian sea on it's west, Maharashtra is the 3rd largest state in India and stands second in terms of population.
